Adrian Frutiger

As part of my Graded Unit 2 in my HND one of the briefs was to create a prestigious publication surrounding the life and work of typographer Adrian Frutiger. I decided that this brief was exactly what I needed as it would give my an insight into someone who revolutionised typography in the modern era.

Upon researching Frutiger’s work it became clear that he had a major impact on the digital typesetting movement and his typefaces Avenir, Univers and Frutiger are still as important now as they were when he created them. I had a lot of fun with my Graded Unit, using his typefaces in various different ways has inspired me to be more creative with typography but also focus on the finer details of type.
